Waste in construction industry is still a major problem and one of most expensive issues which affects the efficiency of construction process and impacting the economy of a country. Meanwhile, one of the most common types of waste in the construction project is waste time. All the parties in construction industries are seeking to find a method for reducing waste time and cost which led to maximising value in this industry. Waste time can be minimised when their causes are recognised. The objectives of this study were measure time performance of structuring a 2-story concrete building. It identifies the major causes of waste time, the effects of waste time to a construction industry, and finally, minimising waste time in construction project by utilising the LEAN paradigm. By comparing the actual times reached from case study and standard times the waste time of project was recognised. Core principles of LEAN were methods which applied in the case study. Between these methods reduction cycle time and management of project at the design stage can be practically useful. These methods decrease the waste time in projects and will affect the waste cost within the projects.
