A driving force in the field of renewable energy is to develop systems which minimize dangerous emissions to the environment, yet deliver the opportunity to create energy options and minimize ecological footprint. The problems of energy and chemical fertilizers, therefore, necessitate the intensification of alternative technologies such as establishing biogas plants that have a dual purpose of generating inflammable gas as a fuel and using the slurry as a supplemental fertilizer. This book, therefore, provides method of optimizing the biogas production capacity of brewers spent grain in combination with various proportion of cow dung, the conventional feed stock. Four combinations of the feed stocks were studied in bench scale anaerobic digesters at room temperature. The results should help, nations investing in biogas programs in optimizing biogas production and quality of the gas produced.
