The theme of this study concerns the evaluation of the level of application of basic maternity standards in the KARISIMBI Health Zone. Data were collected using descriptive, statistical, comparative and analytical methods. The aim was to assess the level of application of basic maternity care standards. In an attempt to answer the research question, 4 hypotheses were put forward: the level of application of the standards of a basic maternity hospital in relation to human resources is unsatisfactory; the level of application of the standards of a basic maternity hospital in relation to infrastructure is unsatisfactory; the level of application of the standards of a basic maternity hospital in relation to material resources is unsatisfactory; the level of application of the standards of a basic maternity hospital in relation to the choice of drug management is unsatisfactory.
