The objective of this study is to evaluate the reference and counter-reference system in the Kambala health zone. Method:We conducted an analytical cross-sectional study on reference and counter-reference in the Kambala health zone for the year 2018. Our data were collected from patient records, registers, reference notes, literature review and analyzed using SPSS Version 23 software. Result: The reference rate in the Kambala health zone is 11%. Parturients with less than 4 ANC (OR: 7.9; P-value = 0.005) and those with a floating fetal head (OR: 5.7; P-value=0.017) were more likely to experience fetal distress than those with other signs.68.6% of parturients had no previous abortion, 29.4% had parity and 45.1% had a gestational age ¿ 6.
