During orthodontic sliding mechanics, the proper selection of brackets and archwires is essential for a better clinical result. Among the various factors to be evaluated, the surface roughness of the orthodontic wire is a key factor, since increased surface roughness can lead to increased friction between wire and bracket, thus generating slower and less effective orthodontic treatment. This study aims to help orthodontists determine the best alloy to choose when performing these mechanics and then to compare different commercial brands.
