Nine vegetable cowpea varieties were evaluated during the year 2011 Kharif to identify suitable vegetable type cowpea varieties for commercial production in coastal Andhra Pradesh based on growth and yield characters. The study revealed that the variety Vellayani Local recorded highest values for all the growth components like plant height, primary branches, number of leaves and dry matter accumulation.
