The purpose of this work was to determine the factors that influence the development of technical-practical competencies in the graduates of Venezuelan Industrial Technical Schools. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, a qualitative research was carried out under the Action-Research design in which four populations of informants participated: advanced students, workshop teachers and graduates of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanics mention of an ETI of the State of Carabobo, Venezuela, and business supervisors. The data were collected using four instruments: semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, observation guides and documentary review.
