With slightly under 4.3 million members, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland is one of the largest Lutheran churches in the world. The head of the church is the Archbishop of Turku, currently Jukka Paarma. Roughly a half (47%) of Finns pray at least once a month. Most children are baptized and have confirmation at the age of 15. Nearly all funerals are Christian. In Nordic countries, it is more usual to pray privately or with family; most people go to church only on special occasions such as Christmas and weddings.
