In "Everybody Gets It Except Willow Or So she thinks", the authors share Willow's struggle to learn a new math concept. Being in fourth grade can be quite challenging with all the new learning strategies. Willow doesn't quite understand how to make sense of the "pie slice" concept for fractions. In spite of her challenge she chooses not to ask for help, which starts a cycle of embarrassment, lying, and fear for sweet Willow. Willow fears she is the only one who doesn't understand. However, Willow later finds she's not only one who struggles with math and learns the power of asking for help.
