With the magnitude of alcohol treatment research
available nationally and internationally,
practitioners need direction processing this
information and applying it to their treatment
program. The Robertello Evaluative Tool (RET) for
Evidence-Based Practices in Alcohol Treatment
provides alcohol treatment program facilitators a
valid and reliable measurement tool to evaluate their
existing alcohol treatment program. The RET assesses
programs theoretical frameworks, mission, goals,
objectives, and client outcomes against existing
evidence-based practices to create a complete view of
the program and its effectiveness. After the RET
assessment process, practitioners will be able to
generate evidence-based practice recommendations that
are relevant and specific to their individual
treatment program. The RET is ideal for practitioners
wishing to assess current program practices,
government agencies requiring a more formal
evidence-based practice assessment process, and
researchers in outpatient alcohol treatment.
