The study strongly suggests that we must open up presence research beyond the domain of virtual reality and communication media, and examine it from a broader perspective of cognitive science. This concept of Evoked Reality and the proposed model may have significant applications in the study ofpresence, and in exploring the possibilities beyond virtual reality.

Dr. Pillai is an Assistant Professor at the Design Discipline, IIITDM Jabalpur, India. He holds a degree in architecture (B.Arch) from Kerala University, India and a Masters degree in design (M.Des - Visual Communication) from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. He earned his Doctorate from Arts et Métiers ParisTech University, France.
