Like other research in the social sciences, research in the field of textbooks has increased dramatically over the last twenty years. Despite this, there is still much to be done, especially in Secondary Education. In Navarre, the situation is not very different, as this line of research is very little developed. For this reason, the aim of this paper is to contribute to the study and analysis of some textbooks on the History of Navarre. In addition, the aim is to examine the most modern textbooks to see if they are really more useful than the old ones, and in this way to check whether we have made as much progress as we think when it comes to producing school textbooks.

A history graduate and specialist in Contemporary History, Miguel Fernández Cárcar has been teaching social sciences at secondary school level for several years. His field of study focuses both on the Contemporary History of Spain and on educational research, the subject of this book.
