There are numerous features in this edition that are designed to make kinetic modeling of the effects of easily ionizable elements during Flame Atomic Emission and Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry easier to handle and enjoyable. One of the problems that make the subject daunting is the sheer rigour of computations required and the enormous volumes of work reported without common conclusions. The book introduces a simplified approach that allows pertinent features of excitation in the presence of easily ionizable elements and plasma diagnostics to be explored.
