This book presents a study of the first movement of J. S. Bach's A Minor Partita (BWV 1013) for solo flute, in which the process of memorization is described; of this work having as main strategy the application of the Execution Guides proposed by Roger Chaffin (2010). The study originated from the observation that few flutists have the habit of using the memorization of musical works in their public performances. As specific objectives, the study sought to investigate characteristics of the memorization process in the field of flute practice, to find out which guides were most used in memorization, as well as to compare the process of memorization of the flutist with research carried out on other instruments, raising similarities, differences and reflections on influences of instrumental technique in the memorization process.
