The main objectives of this work are to evaluate the domain of EF in healthy elderly people and elderly people with mild dementia, to examine the degree of relationship between EF assessment tests and specific domains in the ACE-R, to evaluate which cognitive and executive functions are most vulnerable to increasing age, and to establish the relationship between executive functions and level of education, using a set of tests (Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination [ACE-R; Mioshi, Dawson, Mitchell et al, 2006; Firmino, Simões, Pinho et al., 2008]; Semantic Verbal Fluency and Phonemic Verbal Fluency; Trail Making Test [TMT A & B; Reitan, 1985; Cavaco et al., 2008]; Stroop Test [Stroop, 1935; Golden, 2001]; Similarities Subtest [Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale; WAIS - III; Wechsler, 2008]), with predictive value for assessing this domain of cognitive functioning.
