Autorenporträt
Robin Boudreaux is a pianist and composer from New Orleans, Louisiana. His influences include pianists Ellis Marsalis, Herbie Hancock and Andrew Hill, and composers Nikolai Roslavets, Alban Berg and Fartein Valen. He was a Louisiana Honors Scholar and a graduate of the Southern University Jazz Institute under the direction of Alvin Batiste and the University of New Orleans, where he was Gregory Federico Outstanding Senior in Jazz Studies and a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He is the author of a large catalog of compositions and is the composer of Suite Katrina: Rebirth in the New Fertile Crescent, An Easter Suite and The Night is Beautiful (for Langston Hughes). He has recorded several albums as a saxophonist and pianist, including a 2015 recording with the late Ellis Marsalis, Jr. He is the father of two, an amateur physics theorist and a dual-certified teaching artist. He is currently active as an educator, pianist and clinician.
