Autorenporträt
Raymond Queneau wurde 1903 in Le Havre geboren und lebte ab 1920 in Paris, wo er Philosophie und Literaturwissenschaft studierte. Dort lernte er auch den surrealistischen Kreis um Andre Breton kennen, aus dem er 1929, nach dem Bruch mit Breton, ausgeschlossen wurde. Queneau arbeitete später als Bankbeamter und Handelsvertreter, als Lektor und Übersetzer und war Secretaire generale des französischen Verlags Gallimard. 1960 begründete der Romancier und Poet, der sich auch als Cineast und Mathematiker betätigte, die internationale Sprachwerkstatt Ouvroir de Litterature potentielle (Werkstatt für potentielle Literatur), OuLiPo. Queneau starb 1976 in Paris.
