One such method is exposure of exogenous cholesterol prior to processing. In many species, exogenous cholesterol (CLC) has increased semen quality parameters and in-vitro fertility. The CLC protects the sperm from cryoinjury by different mechanisms. CLC improves the plasma membrane and mitochondrial stability of spermatozoa, minimizes oxidative stress & leakage of intracellular enzymes and improves fertility rate. CLC minimizes the membrane fluidity and enhances organization or stabilization of membrane. CLC technology enhances the number of bulls as the semen donors.
