Autorenporträt
Following two years of leading regular workshops, seminars, presentations and retreats on The Nature Process as a certified facilitator, Sami Aaron became the Director of Training and Development for The Nature Process in November 2016. Sami co-created The Nature Process Facilitator Training program and is responsible for not only leading the training program, but for guiding and mentoring the certified facilitators to develop new programs within their communities. She also is responsible for developing and maintaining the Continuing Professional Development Program for all certified facilitators. Sami is a registered yoga and meditation teacher and has spent over a decade teaching others contemplative, breathing and restorative practices through her specialization in Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep) and Pranayama (yoga breathing). She is also a Level 1 Instructor in Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery with the Veterans Yoga Project whose mission is to support recovery and resilience among veterans, active duty military, their families, and our communities as well as a K-State Extension Master Naturalist. Through her K-State Extension Master Naturalist work, Sami offers workshops to homeowner and public groups to teach how to create wildflower gardens and explain how restored native areas prevent flooding, clean toxins from our waters, and reduce the amount of city water we use, while replenishing habitat for declining populations of pollinators and other wildlife. The bonus is that these natural areas also connect us to the stress-reduction benefits that come from time spent in nature via the colors, scents, and sensations of vibrant, native gardens that evolve and change through all seasons. Additionally, Sami is a member of the Green Business Network Kansas City, a network of environmental professionals and business people who all share a common goal: making sustainable business decisions that protect our natural resources AND make good business sense.
