Michael Finney was born in Sutton-in-Ashfield, England. Obsessed with being in shape and the world of martial arts, he began karate classes while still in school at a young age. Michael attended Sutton Community Academy school in the mid and late 90s. It wasn't until he was exposed to the crazy world of professional wrestling in 1993 that his life began to take shape. Destiny beckoned as Michael was drawn deeper into the WWE. He found inspiration in the athleticism and antics of the various wrestlers, especially from the infamous Hart family. Michael was so enamored with the lifestyle it was only a matter of time before he turned his creative talents towards writing about it. Michael attended Vision West Nottinghamshire College for Art and Design and took acting classes for several years before settling on becoming an author. He proudly was part of the campaign to induct Davey Boy Smith into the WWE Hall of Fame as the driving force behind the movement, working alongside Hollywood celebrities and wrestling legends. Including getting the backing from his childhood hero, the legendary, 'Bret Hart.' Michael remain friends to the members of the legendary Hart family. A sucker for the old 80's and 90's movies, Michael spends his free time collecting autographs and working out. The only thing he doesn't enjoy is heights and perhaps a snake or two. The Broken Grit is his first novel and lovingly dedicated to his dog, Max. Michael is also the writer to The Broken Grit 2: Homecoming.
