This book explores stream of consciousness technique in the interior monologues of Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground. The method for the text analysis is basically descriptive according to the parameters set based on the conceptual framework of this book in order to verify stream of consciousness in the excerpts selected from the novel under discussion. Hence, five parameters are used for exploring stream of consciousness technique in novel.Themain elements of stream of consciousness are evident in the novel because the monologues of the narrator reflect his inner world against the outer reality.

Zeray Hailekiros had his BA degree in foreign languages and literature (English) from Addis Ababa University. He had also his MA degree in literature from the same university. He taught at different higher learning institutions. He is now pursuing his PhD study in literature at Addis Ababa University.He is a lecturer at Woldiya University,Ethiopia.
