International volunteering has become a very popular practice worldwide, which from a small niche, also exclusive practice, has become a powerful industry driven by economic forces. There is no doubt that the impacts felt by both- volunteer and community in host destinations requires an examination in order to understand the effects of this phenomena. The reflected perspectives of local community in this study are aimed to enrich the learning experience for Western society, which in turn can be used as a starting point to build on the awareness and responsibility among the future volunteers.
