The purpose of this project is to explore the possible uses of Ajax in web service delivery within Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The term delivery in this project refers to the layout viewing on the user interface, and the ways in which the user interacts with the application through the same interface. The key objectives of the projects are tested between two websites hosted on different servers. The first website(hosted by www.evolutionmedia-uk.com)offers users the ability to add and search for properties, while the second one is an online community site (hosted on the University CMS server). Both websites use PHP as the server language. The online community website is based on a one page layout that interacts with the server without reloading the entire page. Most of the content/data in this site is received/sent through web services from the property search website. Suitable Ajax patterns/ framework(s) are identified, and implemented to enhance the user interface for better viewing and interaction. The project also demonstrates how web services can be used to build a system that is capable of growing without the worries of application incompatibilities.
