Dr. Thomas J. Francel, FACS is a highly respected, board-certified plastic surgeon with an established private practice in St. Louis for the last 30 years. He completed his surgical residency at Harvard Surgical Services and furthered his specialty in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His contributions to medical literature include 22 peer-reviewed articles and 19 book chapters in various surgical journals. He is a sought-after speaker and educator, having presented his knowledge and techniques at over 20 national and international plastic surgery conferences. In 1999, he gained national recognition when he was interviewed by ABC 20/20, where he shed light on the causes and treatments of severe post-surgical infections.
