The use of pesticides has had a serious impact from the environmental point of view and especially on public health, with reports of contamination of various media (air, water and soil), and cases of acute poisoning and death, but with few real reports of the chronic health effects of long-term exposure to these substances. This study shows the effects on the health of workers who were exposed to pesticides in the long term and who were treated at the Toxicology Outpatient Clinic at Unicamp's Hospital de Clínicas in 2006 and 2007. This is a descriptive cross-sectional observational study that reports and analyses the effects on the health of 370 workers occupationally exposed to pesticides over the long term in the region studied.
