The aim of the present investigation is to prepare activated carbon from papyrus plant and using it in separation and pre-concentration of certain inorganic pollutants (Mercury and Cadmium) and organic pollutants (Methylene blue) from aqueous solution. It includes the preparation and characterization of different adsorbents.Through the experimental results, It is revealed that Activated carbon samples has high adsorption capacity. Through my study on the methods of separation by papyrus plant and the results obtained, I recommend using this plant in the preparation of activated carbon. This method may be transformed from laboratory to industrial and will have a high material cost due to lower cost and availability of raw materials (papyrus plant).

Ahmed A. Alibrahimi was born in Dhi-Qar/Iraq Fab.23.1986. He took the Bachelor from Dhi-Qar University. He took his master from Mansoura University in Eygpt. He has published four research manuscripts in his field work Analytical Chemistry in public journals. He participated in international conference(the role of chemistry in develop).
