Firstly, we extracted the essential oil (EO) from the aerial parts of Lavandula angustifolia (La) using the hydrodistillation method. We then measured the polyphenols present in this essential oil (TPC) by spectrophotometry and assessed the antioxidant activity by measuring the percentage reduction of the DPPH radical. Chromatographic analysis (GC/MS) showed that the marketed (pure) essential oil was rich in various chemical compounds, mainly Linalol, Eucalyptol, Camphor, Terpinen-4-ol, Linalyl and Lavandulyl acetate.
