Autorenporträt
Umberto Nardolicci, also known as "Nardo," has led an extraordinary life journey. He was born and raised in upstate New York and developed a passion for innovation and service early in life, which led him to join the military-a choice that would have a profound impact. Nardo served in the U.S. Navy and was injured during his service, leaving him a disabled veteran. He remained resilient and determined, leaving the military and securing a job at Johns Hopkins University - Applied Physics Laboratory, where he began a very successful softwareengineering career in the Advanced Systems Design group. Throughout his time there, he worked on several leading-edge projects that leveraged the latest technologies. This experience left an indelible mark on his approach to things. From high-tech missile systems to real-time factory floor automation and large-scale healthcare systems, Nardo has worked with some of the best and brightest, building some of the most complex and challenging systems in the world. Over the years, Nardo's dedication to storytelling, the martial arts, and his fellow veterans has been unwavering. His fascination with traditional Eastern Philosophies drew him to finally pick up a pen in 2022 and embark on a new adventure, delving into historical fiction. His novels and passion project, the War of Fear trilogy, bring to life a long-standing desire to tell the story of a little-known but amazing warrior he had read about in an Armed Forces Journal back in 1985. Nardo's commitment to his craft and his fellow veterans is evident within every page of his novels. The pages of Nardo's novels are not just stories but powerful tools that transport readers to pivotal historical moments. His characters bring history to life and give readers a glimpse of the horrors of war, the camaraderie of battle, and the enduring spirit of those who serve. Nardo's novels are more than just entertainment; they are a means to raise awareness about veterans' struggles and advocate for their well-being, with all proceeds from his books being donated to veteran organizations. Nardo's legacy is one of honor, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the written word and the veterans who have given so much. His journey is a testament to the indomitable spirit within all of us and the true power of storytelling.
