The Old Testament volumes in the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture series integrate the best of contemporary biblical scholarship with the traditional understanding of the Old Testament as prophesying and prefiguring Christ. Accessibly written yet substantive, series volumes include quotations from Church documents, Church Fathers, and saints. In this commentary on Ezekiel, Daniel Keating interprets Scripture from within the living tradition of the Church to help pastoral ministers, lay readers, and students understand the Bible more deeply and use it more effectively. "Daniel Keating provides more than a reliable and readable guide to the book of Ezekiel. Through his judicious selection of biblical intertexts, early Christian interpretations, and Church traditions, he reveals and illuminates the book's many exegetical puzzles and theological challenges as well as its significance for modern people of faith. This is a welcome addition to the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture." --William Tooman, University of St. Andrews "Keating's work on Ezekiel provides clarity on a challenging Old Testament prophet! The reader of his commentary will find it useful on several levels." --Donna Petter, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Praise for the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture "The New Testament volumes in this series have served me as a constant resource: deeply scholarly, firmly in touch with the Catholic tradition, and impressively readable and teachable. But among Christians today, the Old Testament often is neglected or treated as unintelligible--with the result being a tragic impoverishment of faith. All Catholics should have these trustworthy volumes at hand." --Matthew Levering, Mundelein Seminary For more information on the series, visit www.CatholicScriptureCommentary.com
