The study was aimed at on investigating factors that affect job satisfaction in the public service, with the main focus on council workers and human resource personnel from the Lusaka City Council (LCC) in Zambia.The sample composed of 105 respondents, these were 76 non-management staff from Lusaka City Council (LCC) in Lusaka, and 29 members of staff from the Human Resource Department at the Lusaka City Council headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia. The researcher adopted an exploratory research design in undertaking the study with purposive sampling used in selecting the respondents when administering questionnaires.Data was analysed through the use of pie charts, Tables, bar graphs and figure that were generated through Statistical Package for Scientists (SPSS) version 23. Findings obtained have shown that job satisfaction factors of public service workers with particular reference to council workers in Zambia at Lusaka City Council (LCC) were mainly salary structures, career growth opportunities, and human resource policies and leaderships styles.
