The problem of Obstetric fistula (OF) remains a ravaging scourge in developing countries, of which Ethiopia is visibly prominent. The repulsive smell and the inability to engage in sexual activity and bear children made to suffer both from physical and social consequences. In spite of all these, OF is not acknowledged as a critical issue in developing world including Ethiopia where cases were prevalent but given less attention. Only one health institution is available in Amhara region (the second largest region in Ethiopia), who is providing obstetric fistula repair service. A study is needed to know the common type of common type of Obstetric fistula, to assess the surgical repair outcomes, and the factors affecting repair outcome of obstetric fistula in Amhara region.
