The aim of this study was to identify the most important factors affecting rural development in Egypt and China, and also to identify rural people attitudes towards rural development, as well as to identify the most important problems in rural areas in both countries. Data was collected from 540 respondents from 8 villages, 270 respondents from 4 villages from China and 270 from 4 villages of Egypt.
