This book expresses some of the factors that influence the participation of the teachers in the construction of the curricular design by competences to the university level, it is an experience lived by a study of investigation carried out in the dean's office of Sciences of the Health of the UCLA in Barquisimeto Venezuela. This is a quantitative study in the form of field research, descriptive and transversal, with the aim of determining the factors associated with the participation of teachers in the construction of the competency-based curriculum design of the UCLA Nursing Programme. The population consisted of 72 teachers from the Nursing Programme, which allowed a sample of 36 teachers to be selected, to whom a questionnaire with Likert scale response options was applied. The results showed: in relation to the affective factors, an attitude that favoured the participation of teachers in the construction of the new curriculum design. In the cognitive factors, it was found that the teachers know about nursing competences, curricula and professional profile, however, they have a weak knowledge of competences.
