How could exporting SMEs from developing countries like India sustain and increase profitability for future survival under enormous competition due to effects of globalization is the research question for this study. A company needs to identify the most influential factors affecting their profitability and implement strategies accordingly to achieve this objective. Accordingly, five major factors affecting profitability of such companies were identified after critical analysis of past literature. A systematic qualitative research involving interviewees from managers of diverse industries proved the validity of these factors and facilitated two key findings which provide SMEs a step by step guide to increase profitability.
