South Africa is facing an energy supply dilemma, firstly from an overall cost point of view and secondly, from a reliability of supply perspective. For the South African consumer, the cost of electricity has increased 169% over a ten-year period and most of that increase has taken place in the last five years. With technology such as solar readily available one has to ask why we are not seeing a higher adoption rate in South Africa. This book takes a look at some of the factors that are influencing this slow rate of adoption specifically in the roof top solar market.
