This book is structured into eight chapters with chapter 1 being the introduction. Chapter 2 presents the Nigerian economy and its place in Africa, looked at the historical evolution of SMEs in Nigeria and examined the concept of e-payments in general. In chapter 3, we reviewed relevant literature and empirical research and identified the factors found by past researchers to influence technological innovation adoption and continuous use by firms and SMEs in particular and verify if they could influence the adoption of e-payment systems among SMEs in Nigeria. A conceptual framework was developed. 14 hypotheses were formulated to address each of the research questions. Chapter 4 takes an in-depth look at the choice of appropriate research designs involving both qualitative and quantitative paradigms including the plans and strategies for data collection and analyses. Chapters 5 and 6 cover all analyses including the descriptive and statistical analyses. In chapter 7, the data from personal interviews are analysed. Finally, chapter 8 is the discussion and concluding chapter. In this chapter, contributions to knowledge are presented while suggesting areas for future research.
