This book demonstrates a hybrid design where OTS components are combined with custom algorithm design in C++ to deliver a series of connected software products to inspect paint finish, LEDs, graphics and more on a final assembly production line. The result was a low cost hybrid-custom solution that was deployed to over twenty production cells in the manufacturing facility. It also got mounted onto automated pick and place machines to further enhance design value.

I led Alps Machine Vision development in Ireland from 2004 to 2010, whilst completing a Masters in Machine Vision from DCU. After that, I worked for EMC and Johnson Controls in Lead Technologist roles towards Cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) industries.
