Produktbeschreibung
The library is the nerve for academic work in the University where all academic related functions such as teaching, learning, research and other extension activities find their support-base. The Balme Library was founded in October 1948 to acquire and organise all types of documents for easy access to members of the University of Ghana community to do research and advance in knowledge. There is however little or no information available on how faculty seek and obtain relevant information to aid their teaching and research work even though the Balme Library is reasonably well equipped with a list of current databases as well as current books and well trained professional staff to assist faculty and students in the use of these resources. This book therefore, serves as a guide for the University of Ghana Library System in particular and other University Libraries in the developing world in general to take more interest in the users of information resources available to them, seek to know the information needs of users and thereby gear their information provision strategies to meeting the expectations of users in general and the academic staff in particular.
