Dental implants may fail due to several reasons, it includes biologic failures (related to biologic processes), mechanical failure of the component (including fracture of the implants), component (including fracture of the implants, coatings, connecting screws and prosthesis) and an iatrogenic failure which can be defined as one characterized by a stable and osseointegrated implant, but due to malpositioning, it is prevented from being used as part of the anchorage unit.
