Samuel Vaden, known as a real estate professional, mindfulness coach, and wine sommelier across Florida, California, Tennessee, and Mexico, and as a former advertising technology entrepreneur in Los Angeles, concealed a personal battle for over a decade. He reveals his struggle with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and Anorexia Nervosa in his book, combining an emotional narrative and vulnerable poetry. His story begins with a life-changing experience at West Point, initiating a 13-year fight with mental and physical disorders. Vaden's poetry expresses the emotional journey from his obsession with body image, military discharge, experiences of love and loss, to overcoming shame and anxiety, culminating in his recovery in California. His book is not just a personal tale but also a beacon of hope, challenging gender-based stereotypes in eating and body disorders, and aims to foster awareness and self-worth.
