Faith Trek Into the Unknown is the life journey of beloved pastor and teacher Lowell Dunston. In it, we see-A small child standing before a congregation singing, "Always Cheerful," choking back tears. A family choosing to move rather than give up the family connection while the kids are in school. A nearly broke student receiving an anonymous note of encouragement with a $10 bill. A pastor arriving at his new church and finding grass a foot high and broken porch floorboards. With the support of his family, teachers, and Providence, Lowell Dunston found Adventist education "a good place to grow" as he learned lessons of diligence, integrity, cooperation, resourcefulness, optimism, and trust in God.While working hard to pay for his education, creating radio spots to bring a local church into the community spotlight, rehabilitating a church or school inside and out, driving a vanload of children to school before a day of teaching, sharing the power of music with brethren in distant lands, or fighting depression through God's promises and providence-the author learned how to find joy in the journey, and it is his fervent hope that, in reading this book, you will find the same joy! "Written by a man who believes in Adventist education and has the stories of miracles and divine intervention to back it up. ... he is aware of the shortcomings, and yet he uplifts the good, and continues to promote the best that Adventist education can be. The stories told here are a treasure for all who share Lowell's conviction that Adventist education is still something worth investing in."~ Pastor Kevin McGill Green Lake Adventist Church"The stories in this book reveal what can happen when a person serves God and follows His leading for a lifetime." ~ Helen Sage, Retired Teacher "... an intimate portrayal of the intense devotion and spiritual and social motivations of a lifelong Adventist teacher and preacher." ~ John McLarty, Retired Pastor "... captures the immediacy, anxiety, and sacrifices, as well as the joys, of serving as a pastor and an educator in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church."~ Karla K. Walters, Ph.D., Retired English Professor and High School Teacher"In a clear and lively style, Dunston narrates how God led through both joyful and stressful situations. This book encourages attention and commitment to God on every page!"~ Dr. Delmer Davis, Professor of English, Emeritus, Andrews University
