Alan Fuss grew up on a small farm in central Nebraska, between North Loup and Scotia. After receiving a B.S. degree in Zoology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, completed his medical education at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. From 1982 through 1988, he practiced general pediatrics in Fremont, Nebraska, before pursuing a career in pediatric emergency medicine at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. He retired after 32 years of medical practice in 2014. Alan and his wife now live in Florida. They have two sons, both married, and four grandchildren. Faithfully Prescribed is Alan's first published book.
