In this unique book, Dr. Khoury describes the quality of life of families who have a child with Tourette Syndrome (TS). For the first time, families of children with TS are enabled to voice their concerns and difficulties, explaining how they face challenges and even draw socio-psychological wellbeing as a result of their coping with their child s disability. The power of words, body language, tears and silences, the looks that passed between parents, tone of speech and the occasional breakdown are powerfully depicted. The research, and in particularly the interviews, which brought Dr. Khoury into the homes and hearts of these families engendered insights concerning aspects of family life that she had not realized were so strong and important. She discovered that families have immense power and ability to cope with most challenging situations.
