In teaching students to integrate and tailor techniques, this book asks them to take functional methods and approaches from a variety of theoretical approaches, without attempting to reiterate the theoretical issues and research covered in theories courses.

Len Sperry, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor and Director of the Doctoral Program in Counseling at Florida Atlantic University, USA and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA Judith A. Lewis, Ph.D., is Chairperson of the Department of Addictions and Behavioral Health at Governors State University, USA. She is a past president of both the American Counseling Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.
