Your life is a unique blend of experiences. And while others may know the surface events, only you remember your unseen thoughts and feelings. So who's the best person to write your memoir? You! But before you start sweating that blank page or worrying about all the potential grammar pits you're sure to fall into, take a deep breath. Preserving your lifetime of memories is a valuable gift you can pass on to future generations-one that comes from the heart and requires no lofty education. How do you begin? Family Treasures: A Guide for Writing Your Story will help you release your anxieties about not making the grade and instead focus on transforming your life experiences into words on a page. Using the Judeo-Christian Bible as a reference, author Teddy L. McIlvain offers instructions on how to write in forms other than basic prose-such as poetry, parables, and proverbs-so you have more tools to work with as you create your written legacy. As you develop your journaling practice, you will soon have a treasure of memories, self-reflection, achievements, inspiration, and direction to leave your loved ones.
