The plot follows the Fantastic Four as they confront, and later ally with, the Silver Surfer to save the planet Earth from Galactus. While the film was the highest-grossing film during the week that immediately followed its release on June 15, 2007 in North America and was the recipient of two out of fifteen awards nominations, it was not well received by critics. The film was released onto high-def Blu-ray Disc and DVD on October 2, 2007.
