Autorenporträt
I guess you can call me the Chicken Lady. When my family decided to raise chickens, a lot of people thought we had lost our minds. We don't live on a farm. We live in a neighborhood on one acre of land. We simply built a coop, went to the feed store, purchased the chickens, a heat lamp and some food and began our journey. I'm a thirty-something (none of your business) mother of three who works full-time and is married to a firefighter. Nothing is perfect here. We make mistakes. We're late most of the time, and our house is messy. We're just like your family, except we have chickens. "Why do (we) have chickens?" you ask. I'm not sure. It just happened. It just felt like something we should do--to have hens, who lay eggs, and make no noise. And we got hens, yes. THREE hens. Not four. One was, in fact, NOT a hen. And the rest of the story... well, that's history.
