In Summer 2020, when he lost everything due to a house fire, Detreich Fluellen, found himself confused, distraught, and unsure of what to do next. However, within a matter of days, he received an outpouring of kindness and generosity from his extended network and was able to quickly regain his footing. Recalling the integrity and character of his belated grandfather and farmer, John Lockett, Detreich created Farmer John as a tribute to his grandfather's legacy and as a poem of gratitude to everyone who supported him during his time of need.
