Autorenporträt
Aileen Ribeiro is Professor Emeritus, University of London, UK. She was Head of the History of Dress at The Courtauld Institute of Art, London, from 1975 to 2009. She has published many books and articles on various aspects of the history of dress. She lectures widely in the UK, Europe and the US and has acted as costume consultant/contributor to many major exhibitions in the UK, Europe and the US (including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Frick Collection, National Galleries of Art, Washington and London; the Bard Graduate Center, Royal Academy of Arts, Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, and Kunsthalle Zürich). In 2018 she received an Iris Foundation Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Decorative Arts, from the Bard Graduate Center, New York.
