Adolescent obesity is a worldwide growing epidemic. High prevalence and increasing rates of adolescent obesity have been reported globally, including from countries such as United States, England and mainland China (Daniel & Stanley, 2010). The prevalence of overweight and obesity have increased dramatically over the past few decades in most industrialized countries. Obesity had reached epidemic proportion worldwide especially in the developed nations both in children and adults (Wang & Lobstein, 2006). During the same period, many developing countries have undergone an economic transition from societies characterized by subsistence agriculture to increased urbanization and industrialization (Luke et al., 2002).
